Sewing

The lace on one of my favorite shirts was coming off in the back. I want to wear it tomorrow, and I had nothing else to do, so I came up with this brilliant (if not obvious) idea. I have a sewing machine, I'll fix it!

It started out well enough. It's a delicate material, one of my favorite shirts, and I haven't sewn anything in a while, so I was trying to be careful. Then the thread bunched up on me. (I still have no clue why.) Fun, fun. I had to completely re-thread my sewing machine and continue. I keep sewing and I finally get it attached. It looks just like I expected, like an armature tried to fix my shirt. xP Oh well, it still looks better than it did before. I feel accomplished that I sewed it at all.

Now if I could just figure out a way to fix the holes that are appearing in the front... I usually layer these tank tops with other shirts so it isn't that a big deal, but I still don't want my shirt to be full of holes.

I've finished cutting up my old jeans for that denim quilt I want to make. I just want my mom to help me start it so I know what I'm doing. I'm thinking about buying other material so I can have some contrast, and to make it bigger. Any suggestions?

Tomorrow I am going on another visit to NECI. My dad hasn't seen the college yet, and I have tons of questions. I'm getting wicked excited about going in September. =)

  1. Congrats on your accomplishment! Have you considered delicate appliques to cover the holes? :)

  2. Can we see the whole shirt? Why not make more deliberate holes and then it will look like it was supposed to be that way? Maybe.
