A Little Tid Bit About Moi

Since a Pagan post would require too much effort I am going to just post a little tid bit about me. If it isn't obvious I figured I'd tell you all that I am a book addict. I love reading. Books are more important to me than my laptop! I wish I could just own a whole library. For now I have to settle for my book case.

TOP OF BOOK CASE BOTTOM OF BOOK CASE

It is organized in it's own special way. It's still messy though. xD I don't really want to think about how I am going to move all my books when I get out of my parent's house. How many boxes do you think it will take?

Twilight Series

First post in about a week. I wish I had a better excuse than this, but I was reading. I love reading, and I get really absorbed in the books I read. I read the entire Twilight series by Stephanie Meyer. It felt like it took me forever to finish. The books were really good though. It was definitely not a waste of time. I think some good came of me reading all week. For instance I get to talk about the series with my friends who have read the books. And I get to post about it now! xD.

I was not planning on reading this series until my friend told me it was about vampires. That automatically got me interested. I love reading fantasy. I’ve read tons of fantasy novels, some I like, some I don’t. I loved this series. In my opinion it was better than Harry Potter, and just as addicting.

I know some people will say this is a silly thought, and that it is just a work of fiction, but usually when I read fantasy novels it makes me think. It makes me consider that anything is possible. One of my latest considerations is how so many people can believe in some sort of God and still scoff at the very idea of mythical creatures being real. I wonder how can you NOT believe in mythical creatures if you believe in a God? This might be a little touchy for some, but it is worth thinking about.

There are people out there who bluntly say that there is no possible way for these things to exist. That they are just bits of history that people overreacted to, or stories that people made up and then slowly came to believe in. What do I say? Sure, anything is possible. That is my point. ANYTHING is possible. Things happen that people can’t explain because we, as humans, are just not as smart as we would like to think we are. I heard a great quote from an interview with George Lucas that we watched in my mythology class.

“Even the cavemen thought they had it figured out. I would say that cavemen understood on a scale of about 1. Now we've made it up to about 5. The only thing that most people don't realize is the scale goes to 1 million.”

I agree. We know so much more than we did thousands, even hundreds, of years ago. But we still know practically nothing. How can we say we know for sure that something is or is not real if anything is possible? The most we can ever do is say “I believe this is or is not real.” Writing this is giving me more of a headache than I need. xP Geez I’m 17 and creating a philosophy on life. Where exactly did the post turn so serious?

Enough for now! I do believe in Faeries! I do, I do, I do! ;)
